Shabir Premji

Mr. Premji is an energy industry entrepreneur who is currently the Chairman & CEO of P Squared Renewables Inc., a publicly traded company on the TSX-V. He was the Founder and Executive Chairman of Alberta Oilsands Inc. (TSXV: AOS), a publicly traded company on the TSX-Venture Exchange from 2004 to 2011. During his tenure, the Company acquired 130 sections (square miles) of oil sands leases in Alberta, Canada; acquired two large (24,000 sq. kilometers) exploration blocks in Kenya which were sold to Africa Oil Inc. for an all stock deal; developed and brought to production oil wells in Alberta and Saskatchewan; and raised in excess of $80 million in equity financing for the Company. When Mr. Premji retired from Alberta Oilsands Inc., the company’s assets included over $30 million of cash, no debt and had been assigned over 373 million barrels of contingent resource on a best estimate basis. During his tenure, he established close working relationships in the oil patch in Alberta, Canada and in the United States, in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) countries, East Africa and China. From September 2013 to February 2015, Mr. Premji was a major shareholder, Director and CFO of Groundstar Resources Inc. (TSXV: GSA), a public E&P company with oil assets in Canada, Egypt and Guyana.

From 1978 to 1987, he was a senior manager with KPMG and from 1987 to 2003 he was a C-suite member in various companies; while the bulk of his entrepreneurship has been focused in oil and gas exploration, development and marketing (from upstream to downstream), he also brings experience in manufacturing and marketing internationally. An entrepreneur who brings rounded expertise ranging from finance, government assistance, building companies and extending their reach beyond borders. He was VP - Finance for an oil pipeline valve manufacturing company from 1987 to 1990 and instrumental in acquiring bank and government financing for its expansion and ultimate sale. He was the President of Calgary’s largest cabinet manufacturer from 1991 to 1995 and responsible for opening export markets to Russia and Japan. He was the founder of two successful natural gas marketing companies in the mid-1990’s, responsible for financing and risk management.

Mr. Premji is an invited speaker at numerous conferences, including Heavy Oil and Oil Sands conferences in London, England; New York and Houston, U.S.A.; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary, Canada. He has presented and has been interviewed on BNN (Business News Network) in Canada.

CFO, VP Business Development & Director

Jack Pastuszko is a seasoned Business Development & Sales leader, combining technical and business acumen with 36 years of experience in numerous industries.  Mr. Pastuszko has spent 18 years in the energy industry, including 6 years in clean and renewable energy.  He is currently the CFO, Vice President of Business Development and a Founding Director of P Squared Renewables Inc. (TSXV: PSQ.P) where he oversees day-to-day operations and building the pipeline of clean and renewable energy project opportunities for strategic asset acquisition, development and ownership.  Mr. Pastuszko was a Senior Sales Manager with Suzlon Group, the 5th largest global wind turbine manufacturer where he engaged numerous stakeholders to develop an impressive project opportunity pipeline of $1.5B across Canada.  The role involved maintaining a market leader position by cultivating key relationships and keeping a close pulse on government and industry policy groups; electrical transmission, distribution and utility groups; independent power producers; project developers; engineering consultants; legal and financial institutions and keeping abreast of developments in federal, provincial and municipal energy policy, financial markets, technology development and renewable energy projects and tenders. From 2005 through 2016, Mr. Pastuszko has held senior sales positions with GE, Honeywell and various instrumentation & control solutions providers serving Canadian end-users, service companies and EPCM organizations in the oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial and municipal waterworks, power, construction and other process industries. Prior to this, his 18-year engineering background spans product development, quality assurance, manufacturing and operations in the aerospace, defense, telecommunications, wireless and other industries
